１月１６日に外国部でランチ新年会を開催しました。今回は、ビュッフェではなかったため、落ち着いて食事および会話を楽しむことができました。おいしいランチと、写真のようなスイーツにより、午後の仕事に集中することができました。このような会を定期的に開くことにより、所員同士のコミュニケーションを深めていきたいと思います。
Ａ New Year Lunch Party was held in foreign department on January 16, 2020. This time, it was not a buffet style, so we were able to relax and enjoy meals and conversations. Delicious lunch and sweets like the picture allowed us to concentrate on our afternoon works. By holding such a party regularly, we would like to deepen communication between the staff members.

この度、台風19号の被害に遭われた方々にお見舞い申し上げます。
甚大な被害を出した台風19号の通過に自然災害の恐怖を抱きました。
幸い、当所のスタッフは全員無事です。
海外の代理人の方より身を案じて下さる便りをいただきこの場を借りて感謝申し上げます。
今回の災害を教訓に緊急時になすべきことについて考え、事務所の防災装備を整えたいと思います。

9月の連休を利用して、草津に行ってきました。画像は、草津の湯畑です。湯畑は温泉の源泉をかけ流し、湯温を調整するための施設です。
草津は、日本を代表する温泉保養地ですが、「草津温泉」との商標が地域団体商標として登録されているようです（登録第5083102号）。流石日本を代表する温泉地だけあって、ブランド力維持に抜かりはないようです。
特許庁のホームページから登録済みの地域団体商標が検索できますので、皆様のお住いの地域の地域団体商標を検索してみたらいかがでしょうか。皆さんなじみ深い地元名産のブランドが登録されているかもしれませんよ。

Hello! I’m Yasuhisa Takahashi, patent attorney with Asahi&Masuda.
In the holidays in September, 2019, I visited Kusatsu city. The attached picture shows Yubatake in Kusatsu city. Yubatake is an institution for adjusting a temperature of hot water from a source of hot spring by flowing the hot water of the hot spring.
Kusatsu city is one of the most famous hot spring health resorts in Japan. Trademark “Kusatsu Onsen”, which means Kusatsu hot spring, (Registration No. 5083102) has been registered as a Regional collective trademark. Since Kusatsu city is representative hot spring of Japan, it seems that the efforts for maintaining its brand power are sufficiently performed.
You can search registered Regional collective trademarks in Japan with a homepage of the Japan Patent Office. Please try to search Regional collective trademarks of your residence. You may find your hometown brand.

＜弁理士試験＞
弁理士試験の第1関門である短答式筆記試験が5/19(日)に実施されました。今年の志願者数は3858人であり、昨年の志願者数(3977人)よりも若干減少しています。昨年12月30日に発効された「環太平洋パートナーシップに関する包括的及び先進的な協定」(TPP11協定)に基づく法改正等、近年頻繁に法改正が施行されています。受験生にとって、頻繁な法改正を勉強することは大変ですが、我々も、これらの法改正に柔軟に対応していく必要があると感じています。
The short answer type written examination, which is the first hurdle of the patent attorney examination, was held on 5/19 (Sun). The number of applicants for this year is 3858 which is slightly lower than last year's number of applicants (the number of applicants for last year was 3977). In recent years, law revisions have been enforced frequently, such as law revisions based on the “Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership” (TPP11 Agreement) which came into effect on December 30, 2018. It is not easy for examinees to study these law revisions, but we feel that it is necessary to respond flexibly to these law revisions.
2019年4月18日、外国部に新たに入所した新人さんの歓迎のためにランチパーティーを開催しました。歓迎会というと夜の飲み会が定番ですが、今回はランチパーティーを開催いたしました。家庭の事情で夜遅くまで飲み会に参加できない人たちに好評でした。働き方改革が求められる昨今の情勢下、夜の飲み会の代わりにランチパーティーを行うことは好ましいものと思いました。ともあれ、新人さんとは長い間一緒に働いていきたいと思います。一緒に事務所を盛り上げていきましょう！

On April 18, 2019, we held a lunch party for welcoming a newcomer newly belonging to the international department. Although a drinking session at night is regularly held for welcoming newcomers, we held the lunch party at this time. The lunch party got favorable reviews from members who cannot participate a drinking session until late at night for family reasons. Under the recent situation that the Working-Style reform is required, I think that a lunch party is more preferable than a drinking session at night. Anyway, we hope to work with the newcomer for a long time. Let’s boost our firm, together!

お花見&送別会(Hanami & Farewell Party)
3月28日、恒例の春のお花見を南桜公園にて致しました。当日は朝から席を取りに行ったところ、パトロール中の警備員に、無人で席を取ることは禁止と注意を受けてしまいました。今年からパトロールを強化したそうです。楽しみにしていたお花見ですが、その日は一日肌寒い曇り空で、せっかくの桜が映えませんでした。お花見は晴れた日に、青空の下で行うべきですね！
夜は3月末で退職する所員の新たな門出を祝って送別会を行いました。お花見には年度末のため多忙で参加できないスタッフも多かったのですが、送別会では長年事務所に貢献した所員を慕って大勢が集まり、にぎやかな夜を過ごしました。
仲間が去っていくのは寂しいですが、今後もこのブログを通して近況を共有していきたいと思っております。
On 28th of March, we held the annual spring event Cherry blossom viewing, “hanami” at Nan’O Park (South Cherry Blossom Park). We went to save a spot in the morning, but we were warned by a watchman on patrol that you’re not allowed to save a spot without someone staying behind. We heard that the patrol was strengthened this year. We were looking forward to hanami, but the long-awaited cherry blossom did not look good on a chilly cloudy day. We should do hanami under the blue sky on a sunny day!
In the evening, we held a farewell party to wish for good luck in the future for a staff member who was leaving our firm at the end of March. While most of the staff were too busy due to the end of the fiscal year to participate in the hanami, many people gathered together at the farewell party to bid farewell to the staff who contributed to our firm for years, and we had a fun evening.
It is sad that our colleague left us, but we hope to keep in touch through this blog.
2018年10月15日にスペイン大使館で開催されたセミナーに参加しました。
このセミナーは、スペインの特許事務所PONS Patentes y Marcas Internacionalによるものです。
セミナーでは、著作権の課金制度に関するヨーロッパの最新動向など、とても興味深い内容が発表されました。
また、セミナー終了後の交流会では、美味しい料理、ワインが提供されました。写真はその時に提供された生ハムです。
I, Toshio Yamamoto, participated in a seminar held at the Embassy of Spain on 15th October 2018.
This seminar was arranged by the Spanish patent firm “PONS Patentes y Marcas Internacional”.
The seminar’s topics were very interesting such as latest trends in Europe regarding copyright payment system.
After the seminar, delicious food and drink(especially wine) were also served. The picture shows slices of raw ham provided at the reception.
